Hi HCJ
I was just reading about the benefits of virgin coconut oil, both for bones, & to decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s. However, I am not sure how to use it/ substitute it in recipes/cooking. Is it a butter substitute? Fry an egg white in it? It looks like Crisco in the jar I have on my shelf.
Please advise. Thank you.

Yes! I’ve mentioned coconut oil in several of my posts. It is the best oil to use for cooking and baking, as it stays stable at high temperatures. Use it in any recipe like any other oil but for baking, melt it at a low heat first and let it cool before adding it in. I use it for everything – baking, sauteing veggies, and frying eggs. It won’t taste like butter, so if you want a buttery taste, use ghee.
